Local boy and Barca legend, Sergi Roberto, made an emotional return to his former stomping ground during the recent Trofeu Joan Gamper. After 18 years, 373 matches, and 29 titles with Barcelona, Roberto found himself on the opposite side of the pitch, playing for Como.

"It was special to see my teammates and return home," Roberto said after the match. "We tried in the game, but they are very good. The three up front are like motorbikes! I wish them all the luck in the world." He was substituted in the 25th minute to a standing ovation, a proper send-off he didn't get upon his departure.

A fond farewell, a new chapter

Roberto spent time catching up with his former teammates and club president Laporta, praising Como's "project" and calling it "the best" option for his career. He's also learning a lot from their manager, another familiar face: Cesc Fàbregas.

Fàbregas Back in the Dugout

Fàbregas, the former Barcelona midfielder, also returned to face his old club. It was his first time facing Barca since playing for Chelsea in the Champions League in 2018. Alex Valle also returned.

Barca coach Hansi Flick commented on the game saying that they must improve in defence and pressure. Flick also stated that it was very important to have solved the issues between Ter Stegen and the club.
