2025 WASSCE: Written Exams Start Today for 461,640 Candidates
Accra, Ghana - The 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) written papers have officially begun today, Wednesday, August 20, 2025. A total of 461,640 candidates across Ghana are participating in this crucial examination.
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has assured the public that the government has provided adequate funding to ensure the smooth conduct of the exams. According to WAEC, all necessary logistics, including depot keepers and examination materials, have been dispatched to the various examination centers nationwide.
John Kapi, WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, speaking to Graphic Online on Monday, August 18, stated, "We are in a comfortable position right now. All depot keepers and materials have been dispatched to the centres." This statement provides reassurance to students, parents, and educators regarding the preparedness for the examination.
