Ghana is in mourning following the tragic death of Samuel Aboagye, the Acting Deputy Director-General of Operations at the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO). Mr. Aboagye was among those who perished in the helicopter crash that occurred on August 6, 2025, in the Adansi area of the Ashanti Region.

A state funeral was held in Accra to honor the life and service of Mr. Aboagye. His widow, Abigail Salami, delivered a moving tribute, describing him as a man of strength, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to his family and profession. She recounted his last words to her, "Take care, babe. I love you," which she said would forever resonate as a testament to his enduring love.

"He excelled in his career with tireless commitment and touched everyone around him with his presence," Mrs. Salami stated. "From the moment you entered my life, you gave me unwavering love, joy, protection, and the beautiful honour of becoming your wife."

NADMO has also issued a statement expressing its condolences to the family of Mr. Aboagye. The organization acknowledged his dedication and commitment to the safety and well-being of Ghanaians. Prior to his passing, Mr. Aboagye was also a Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi East in the 2024 elections.

Major (RTD) Dr Joseph Bikanyi Kuyon, the Director-General of NADMO, emphasized the importance of recognizing Mr. Aboagye's contributions to the organization in all public discourse. The entire nation joins NADMO in mourning the loss of a dedicated public servant.
