Rennes Target Sporting Lisbon's Harder! Transfer Drama Unfolds!

Rennes Eye Sporting CP Striker Conrad Harder as Kalimuendo Replacement

French club Rennes are reportedly making a move for Sporting Lisbon striker Conrad Harder, according to reports from L'Equipe. The Ligue 1 side is looking to bolster their attacking options after Arnaud Kalimuendo's departure.

Kalimuendo has completed a €33m transfer to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, leaving Rennes in need of a new centre-forward. Harder, a 20-year-old Denmark international, has emerged as a prime target.

Harder's Impressive Stats

Harder joined Sporting CP from Nordsjaelland last summer for €19m. While primarily serving as Viktor Gyokeres’ understudy, Harder still managed to impress, scoring 11 goals and providing 7 assists in 49 appearances for the Portuguese club. His versatility makes him an attractive prospect for Rennes manager, Julien Stéphan.

Negotiations Underway

Talks are reportedly already underway between Rennes and Sporting CP as Rennes look to secure the services of the talented young striker. Whether Sporting will be willing to part with Harder remains to be seen, but Rennes are clearly keen to bring him to France to fill the void left by Kalimuendo.

The move would give Harder more playing time and a chance to shine in Ligue 1. This transfer saga is definitely one to watch as the transfer window progresses.
