A pilot has tragically lost their life after a Cessna 210 aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Lanseria International Airport, north-west of Johannesburg, on Thursday. The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) has confirmed the incident and dispatched investigators to the scene.

The aircraft went down within the perimeter of the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve, a short distance from the airport. The destination of the flight remains unclear at this stage.
