South Korean superstar Son Heung-min has officially arrived in Major League Soccer! The Los Angeles FC's newest signing netted his first MLS goal in a thrilling 1-1 draw against FC Dallas this past weekend. The former Tottenham captain, who joined LAFC for a reported record $26 million, showcased his brilliance with a stunning first-half free kick.

Just six minutes into the match, Son stepped up to take a free kick from 25 yards out, awarded after a foul on LAFC's Denis Bouanga. With precision and power, he lofted the ball over the wall, leaving the Dallas goalkeeper with no chance. "I'm glad I scored the first goal for the MLS and also for LAFC," Son stated after the game. However, he emphasized, "But for me, the most important thing is to get three points. I'm really, really disappointed for that."

Son's impact has been immediate. This goal comes just a week after he provided an assist in LAFC's 2-0 victory over the New England Revolution. He's quickly becoming a key player for the team. "I need still a lot of time to be connecting with the team," Son acknowledged, adding, "It's been only two weeks – maybe a little bit more than two weeks. But I'm enjoying every single moment."

Dallas responded with an equalizer from Logan Farrington in the 13th minute. Despite LAFC dominating possession throughout the remainder of the match, they were unable to find the winning goal. "I thought we dominated the game," Son reflected. "I think we didn't have a really difficult day ... We created chances, but not scoring goals throughout the game, I think it's really disappointing."

Looking ahead, Son is eager to play his first home game next weekend when LAFC hosts Western Conference leaders San Diego. The team will be looking to convert their dominance into goals and secure a crucial victory.
