Get ready, Mzansi! The Carling Black Label Cup is back for 2025, promising more fan engagement and exciting football action. Launched alongside the Carling Knockout Cup, this year's edition brings back the popular R100,000 prize money for both the Man of the Match and the Champion Coach.

As in previous years, the Carling Black Label Cup will feature the Carling Knockout champions facing off against a team of PSL All-Stars and DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) players. This year's match is slated for December 13th, and once again, fans will have the power to choose their favourite players to represent the All-Stars.

In the past two editions, the Carling All-Stars, led by coach Jose Riveiro, have emerged victorious against the Carling Knockout winners – Stellenbosch FC in 2023 and Magesi FC in 2024. Will they continue their winning streak?

What's New This Year?

This year, Carling has introduced some exciting innovations to further enhance fan involvement:

  • Fan-Powered All-Stars: The Carling All-Stars team will be selected entirely by fan votes.
  • Youth Integration: The starting XI will consist of six PSL players and five DDC players, giving young talent a chance to shine.
  • Man of the Match Vote: Fans will also vote for the Man of the Match in the Carling Knockout, with the winner receiving a R100,000 prize.
  • FakiGoal Uzobona: A thrilling incentive for goals! R90,000 is up for grabs every 90 minutes, but the prize decreases by R1,000 for every minute without a goal. Score early, and the prize money is even higher!

The Champion Coach competition also returns, giving one lucky football enthusiast the opportunity to coach the fan-voted Carling All-Stars team.

So, get ready to cast your votes and be a part of the action! The Carling Black Label Cup 2025 is shaping up to be another thrilling edition of South African football.
