Mzansi, good news! SASSA beneficiaries are set to receive a slight increase in their social grants starting October 2025. This follows the announcement made by Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana during the Budget Speech earlier this year.

Who Gets the Increase?

The R10 increase will apply to the following grants:

Old Age Grants: Increasing from R2310 to R2320
Old Age Grants (older than 75 years): Increasing from R2330 to R2340
War Veterans Grant: Increasing from R2330 to R2340
Disability Grant: Increasing from R2310 to R2320
Care Dependency Grant: Increasing from R2310 to R2320

When Will You Get Paid?

Here are the payment dates for October 2025:

Old Age Grant: 02 October
Disability Grants: 03 October
Children’s Grants: 06 October

SASSA's Commitment

SASSA CEO Themba Matlou emphasized the importance of this adjustment, stating that it reaffirms the government's commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of society. He assured beneficiaries that all eligible individuals will receive their grants without any interruptions.

“This increase is crucial, acting as a safety net for our beneficiaries against the hardships they face, It demonstrates that the government is focused on easing the financial burden on these individuals and protecting them from economic adversity,” said Matlou.
