Good news for diesel drivers in South Africa! The Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, Gwede Mantashe, has announced a decrease in diesel prices for October, while petrol prices will see a slight increase.

Here's the Breakdown:

  • Petrol (93 Unleaded): Up by 1c/litre
  • Petrol (95 Unleaded): Up by 8c/litre
  • Diesel (0.05% Sulphur): Down by 10c/litre
  • Diesel (0.005% Sulphur): Down by 8c/litre
  • Illuminating Paraffin: Down by 11c/litre

These adjustments take effect from midnight. The changes are attributed to fluctuations in international fuel prices and the Rand's strengthening against the US dollar, moving from R17.73/$ to R17.49/$.

Important Note:

The petrol price increase includes a 6.1 c/l adjustment to accommodate wage increases for forecourt employees, as agreed upon on August 23rd. This translates to a price structure increase from 299.5c/l to 305.6c/l.
