Durban Braces for Gale-Force Winds! KZN Weather Alert Issued!
KZN Weather Warning: Brace Yourselves, Durban!
Durban and the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) east coast are preparing for disruptive winds this Sunday, following a Yellow Level 4 warning issued by the South African Weather Service (SAWS) on Saturday. Residents are urged to take precautions and stay informed about the developing weather situation.
SAWS forecaster Lehlohonolo Thobela warns that the strong winds could significantly impact marine navigation. The alert highlights the potential for hazardous conditions at sea, urging caution for all maritime activities.
"We're expecting partly cloudy conditions to dominate the central part into the eastern areas, with a 30 per cent chance of showers and thundershowers expected over the Northern Cape, the Northwest, the Free State into KwaZulu-Natal and the eastern half of the Eastern Cape," Thobela stated. "Scattered showers and thundershowers are expected over the central and the western parts of KwaZulu-Natal into the afternoon into the extreme eastern parts of the Free State."
The weather service also indicates that thundershowers are possible in parts of KZN, the Eastern Cape, and the Western Cape.
