Time's ticking! The South African Revenue Service (SARS) is making a last-ditch effort to help taxpayers avoid penalties as the income tax return deadline looms. With only two days left, selected SARS branches are opening their doors this Saturday to provide assistance.
SARS spokesperson Siphithi Sibeko is urging all South Africans to take advantage of the available support before Monday's cut-off. Missing the deadline could result in hefty fines, so it's crucial to act now.
"Monday, the 20th of October, is the final day of submission of the outstanding returns for those that did not receive the auto assessment," Sibeko stated. "We are cautioning South African taxpayers to meet all their legal obligations by the deadline of the 20th."
Tax season, which kicked off in July, is rapidly coming to an end. Don't wait until the last minute! Get your documents in order and submit your income tax return to avoid unnecessary penalties. You can visit a SARS branch this Saturday or utilise the online platform for convenient submission.
