CAPE TOWN - Explosive testimony at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry reveals new details surrounding the arrest of alleged underworld kingpin, Katiso ‘KT’ Molefe. Witness A, an organised crime investigator, testified that Molefe was armed at the time of his arrest in December 2024.
According to Witness A, Molefe cooperated fully with police officers after they identified themselves and presented a valid arrest warrant. Despite being armed, Molefe did not resist arrest.
‘All he said in the instant when I handcuffed him was that, how are we linking him to the murder of Mr. Swart, because we know that he was not there,’ Witness A testified, suggesting Molefe was aware of the charges against him.
The arrest operation also uncovered a significant number of vehicles on Molefe's property – at least seven, all registered in his name. Molefe also reportedly consented to a search and seizure of electronic devices.
‘Some of these documents related to Transnet and different companies. As well as applying for tenders for Transnet. There was a set of documents that belonged to the SK Group,’ Witness A revealed, hinting at possible links to other investigations and potential corruption.
Molefe is currently accused of orchestrating the murders of whistleblower Armand Swart, as well as DJs Sumbody and Vintos. The Madlanga Commission continues to hear evidence in this high-profile case, promising further revelations in the coming days.
