AS Monaco Face Tottenham: Key Player Returns & New Talent Debuts!

AS Monaco is gearing up for a crucial Champions League clash against Tottenham, with manager Sébastien Pocognoli receiving a welcome boost to his squad. Christian Mawissa, who suffered a hamstring injury against Lorient on September 27th, has made a quicker-than-expected recovery and returns to bolster the defensive line.

This is particularly good news considering Eric Dier is sidelined with an injury, preventing him from facing his former club. Mawissa's return adds much-needed depth and experience to Monaco's defence.

Adding to the excitement, Lucas Michal is also included in the squad. Fresh from a successful U20 World Cup campaign in Chile, where he scored five goals and finished as joint top scorer for France, Michal is in line to make his first appearance of the season. This comes after a potential summer move fell through. His inclusion offers Pocognoli another attacking option.

The confirmed Monaco squad is: Köhn; Caio Henrique, Kehrer, Salisu; Ouattara, Coulibaly, Teze, Diatta; Akliouche; Ansu Fati, Balogun.

Unfortunately, several players remain unavailable for selection. Hradecky, Dier, Vanderson, Zakaria, and Camara are all sidelined with injuries, while Pogba is still recovering and Brunner is omitted by choice.

The match promises to be a tightly contested affair, with both teams vying for crucial points in the Champions League group stage. Monaco will be hoping Mawissa's return and Michal's potential debut can provide the edge they need to secure a victory against Tottenham.
