The highly anticipated final season of Stranger Things is almost here, but recent reports of on-set tensions have been making headlines. Specifically, allegations surfaced claiming Millie Bobby Brown accused co-star David Harbour of bullying. But are these reports true?
Red Carpet Reunion: Smiles and Laughter
Despite the swirling rumours, Brown and Harbour put on a united front at the season five premiere in Los Angeles. They were seen laughing, joking, and embracing on the red carpet, seemingly dismissing any suggestion of discord. Netflix even posted footage of their friendly interaction, showcasing a supportive atmosphere.
What the Creators and Producers Say
When questioned about the bullying claims, Stranger Things co-creator Ross Duffer stated, "Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal on-set matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them. So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy."
Executive producer Shawn Levy echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the importance of creating a respectful and safe workplace. He stated, "You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so." Levy also dismissed many of the stories circulating as "wildly inaccurate."
Brown and Harbour's Perspectives
When asked about working with Harbour, Brown told Extra, "It's been amazing, we're so lucky to have each other, the show means so much to both of us, to everyone here." Harbour added, "I adore her, I've been proud to watch all of them grow up to become such great artists... This particular family and project has been so special and we've gotten to know each other so deeply, you rarely get to do this in this business."
It appears the cast and crew are focused on celebrating the final season and maintaining a positive environment, despite the recent allegations. Fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing the Stranger Things family seems as close as ever.
