Ashes Drama! Labuschagne & Carse Clash BIG Time in Perth!

The Ashes 2025 series has kicked off with a bang! Day one at the Optus Stadium in Perth saw more than just wickets falling – sparks flew between Aussie batsman Marnus Labuschagne and England's pacer Brydon Carse.

Heated Exchange Ignites Ashes Opener

During Carse's bowling spell, a fiery exchange erupted after Labuschagne left an inswinging delivery. Words were exchanged, and Labuschagne didn't back down, charging towards Carse with a response that was anything but friendly. The clip of this banter has already gone viral, showcasing the intensity of the Ashes rivalry.

But Labuschagne's stay at the crease was short-lived. He was clean bowled by Jofra Archer for a mere nine runs, adding to the drama of the day.

Starc's Sensational Performance

Before the verbal fireworks, Mitchell Starc dominated the scene, achieving a career-best performance. He took seven wickets, dismantling the English batting lineup for a paltry 172. England, after winning the toss and choosing to bat, struggled to build any significant partnerships.

Starc Reaches Ashes Milestone

Starc also claimed the wicket of Joe Root, marking his 100th Ashes wicket. He's only the 21st bowler and 13th Australian to reach this milestone, achieving it in just 23 Tests. He's now level with Curtly Ambrose's 405 Test wickets and closing in on Wasim Akram's record of 414, the most Test wickets by a left-arm fast bowler.

Currently, Australia is batting and stands at 69 for four, with Travis Head at the crease.
