Wilder Calls for Consistency as Sheffield United Eyes Leicester Clash
Sheffield United coach Chris Wilder is urging his team to find consistency as they prepare to face Leicester City. After pulling themselves out of the relegation zone, Wilder is focused on maintaining a high level of performance, not just chasing wins.
The Blades travel to Leicester on Saturday, hoping a third consecutive league victory could propel them further up the Championship table. Their recent 3-0 win against Portsmouth marked only the second time this season they've achieved back-to-back wins.
"I've said it to the players, the biggest compliment you can be given is knowing what you're going to get when you play Sheffield United," Wilder stated. "I think that's coming together now."
He emphasized the importance of consistent performance levels: "[We're] not always guaranteed the result, but you know, performances, we want sevens and eights out of 10. We don't want a nine out of 10, and we don't want a four out of 10. We don't want to go from there in games as well, to there as well, which obviously we did in a couple of games." Wilder cited the defeat against Preston as a prime example of this inconsistency.
Wilder concluded, "Consistency is really key."
Key to Victory Against Leicester
- Maintain consistent performance throughout the match.
- Capitalize on scoring opportunities.
- Defend strongly against Leicester's attack.
Can Sheffield United deliver the consistency Wilder demands and secure a vital win against Leicester? All eyes will be on Saturday's clash.
