Njabulo Blom Makes Surprise Move to Asia!

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Njabulo Blom has made a surprising move, joining Vietnamese V.League 1 champions Thep Xanh Nam Dinh FC ahead of the 2025/26 season. This comes after his loan spell with the Amakhosi concluded at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

The 25-year-old midfielder, who also spent time in MLS with St Louis City SC, will be linking up with English striker Kyle Hudlin, who stands at an impressive 2.1 meters tall. This is a significant move for Blom, offering him a new challenge and opportunity to showcase his talent on the international stage.

“Njabulo Blom, born on 11/12/1999, is a South African citizen and plays as a midfielder,” the club confirmed via their Facebook page. “He was a familiar face in the American Professional Soccer League - now known as MLS - when he played for St Louis CITY SC. Njabulo Blom was also summoned up and played for the South African National Team.”

During his loan spell at Kaizer Chiefs last season, Blom made 19 appearances and was part of the squad that clinched the Nedbank Cup. While he wasn't always a regular starter, his contribution to the team was undeniable. This move to Vietnam represents a fresh start for the Bafana Bafana star.

Thep Xanh Nam Dinh FC will be hoping Blom's experience in both the PSL and MLS will add valuable quality to their squad as they look to defend their V.League 1 title.

What This Means for Blom's Career

  • A chance to gain international experience in a new league.
  • Opportunity to play regular football and showcase his skills.
  • Potential to contribute to a championship-winning team.

We'll be following Blom's progress closely as he embarks on this exciting new chapter in his career.
