South Africa Shivers: Major Cold Front Grips the Nation
Johannesburg – South Africa is bracing for a bone-chilling week as a significant cold front sweeps across the country. The South African Weather Service has issued urgent warnings, urging residents to prepare for disruptive snow, damaging winds, and dangerously high waves.
The dramatic weather shift will bring a sharp drop in temperatures, with freezing conditions and scattered showers anticipated across many regions. Expect particularly cold weather in Gauteng, Free State, Mpumalanga, North West & KZN.
According to Tokelo Chiloane from the South African Weather Service, a Cut-off-low is expected to bring cloudy and cold conditions to the central and eastern parts of the country between Wednesday and Thursday, 6-7 August 2025. Isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers are also predicted for these areas.
