Wealdstone Football Club has announced the exciting acquisition of central midfielder Alfie Massey on loan from Championship side Millwall. The deal will keep the talented 19-year-old at Grosvenor Vale until early January. This move is set to bolster Wealdstone's midfield options as they look to make an impact this season.

Massey's Journey to Wealdstone

Alfie Massey's journey in football has seen him develop through the youth setups of prominent clubs like West Ham United and Arsenal before joining Millwall. He has been a consistent performer for Millwall's youth teams, playing a crucial role in their run to the FA Youth Cup semi-finals in the 2023/24 season, where they notably defeated Chelsea.

Breaking into the Millwall First Team

Last season marked a breakthrough for Massey as he began to feature in Millwall's first-team plans. He was part of the squad that travelled to Spain for their preseason tour, where he impressed the coaching staff. This led to him being named on the bench for the opening game of the Championship season. He then made his professional debut in the Carabao Cup and subsequently signed a new long-term contract with Millwall.

Former Millwall manager Neil Harris expressed his belief that Massey has the potential to “flourish” in South London. Massey also made his home debut in an FA Cup match against Dagenham and Redbridge in January and has been involved with Millwall’s first team during preseason this year.

Wealdstone fans will be eager to see Massey in action as he looks to gain valuable first-team experience during his loan spell. The club is also offering opportunities for kit sponsorship for Alfie and other first-team members. For more information, interested parties can contact 07967 698370.
