UK Woman Flies to Ghana, Meets Man, Dies: Florida Man Arrested

A chilling case has unfolded involving a woman from the United Kingdom, Sonia Exelby, who traveled to Florida, USA, allegedly seeking to be sexually abused and possibly murdered. Dwain Hall, a 53-year-old man from Ocala, Florida, has been arrested in connection with her death.

The Bizarre Circumstances

Reports indicate that Exelby, 32, from Portsmouth, England, arrived in Florida on October 10th and was reported missing after failing to catch her return flight. UK authorities contacted the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) through INTERPOL, expressing concerns about her mental health and suicidal tendencies. They believed she intended to meet someone who would violently end her life.

Investigators linked Hall to transactions made on Exelby's credit cards. He reportedly picked her up from the airport and took her to an Airbnb. Hall initially provided conflicting accounts but eventually admitted to meeting Exelby on a fetish website, Motherless.com, about two years prior. He claimed she was suicidal and wanted to die, portraying himself as a mentor trying to help her, not facilitate her death.

Hall admitted to having sex with Exelby multiple times at the Airbnb and recording a video of her, which he later deleted. However, investigators recovered the deleted video, which allegedly shows Exelby disheveled with bruises, expressing that she was an "awful person" who had hurt everyone who loved her. Hall is seen attempting to obtain her consent to be harmed in the video, with Exelby appearing hesitant and visibly upset.

Evidence and Charges

Exelby also sent a message on Discord to a friend expressing regret while staying with Hall. Her body was discovered buried in a shallow grave in Marion Oaks, Florida, a week after her arrival. Hall has been charged with kidnapping and first-degree murder. Evidence including surveillance footage, bank records, DNA, messages, and a buried knife connect Hall to the crime. He is currently being held without bond.

Authorities are describing the case as one of the most bizarre they have ever encountered, highlighting the unusual circumstances surrounding Exelby's travel to Florida and her alleged intentions.
