The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a warning to consumers in Ghana regarding the Anna Queen play yards sold on Amazon. These play yards have been recalled due to significant risks of suffocation and entrapment for infants, violating mandatory safety standards.
Why the Recall?
The recall notice highlights that infants can become trapped under the mattress or between the side of the play yard and the mattress itself. This poses a serious threat of suffocation and injury.
Which Play Yards Are Affected?
Approximately 70 units of these play yards, sold online on Amazon since March 2025 for between $100 and $110, are affected. The play yards feature:
- Black fabric on the sides
- Mesh panels with gray borders
- Top rails covered with white fabric with multi-colored bear faces and paws, and the word “bear”
- A mattress with the same bear print
The impacted play yards have “Model: P700” and “Production Date: 202503″ printed on the packaging and removable tag.
What Should Consumers Do?
The CPSC strongly advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled play yards. To receive a full refund, consumers should:
- Remove the fabric cover from the play yard.
- Cut up the fabric cover and the mattress.
- Email a photo of the destroyed parts to Anna Queen at [email protected].
No Reported Incidents
Fortunately, there have been no reported incidents or injuries involving these recalled play yards.
Protecting Your Child
The safety of children is paramount. If you have purchased an Anna Queen play yard from Amazon, please take immediate action to prevent potential harm. Follow the instructions provided by the CPSC and Anna Queen to receive your refund and ensure your child's safety.
