HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Winter storm dey come wey go affect di area tonight, go continue till morning commute; but no be everybody go see big effect from dis system.

Warm air go dey push enter many lowlands, especially di I-79 and US-119 areas. Because of dis, expect mostly rain for places like Charleston, Logan, Pikeville, and Sutton. For I-64 from Grayson go Huntington, expect small ice with some inches of snow. Dis dey expected for places like Richwood, Summersville, and Fayetteville too.

Di heavy snow dey expected for southern Ohio, with 3-4″ of snow from Portsmouth go Athens.

Things go dry up as we dey go afternoon and evening. Dis go continue till di end of di week and into di weekend too. For long term, weather dey favour cold and snowy December. So, we need prepare well.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Many parts of West Virginia dey expect winter storm wey go pass through quick quick within 24 hours. Di system don already start dey move through di midwest and go enter West Virginia late Monday night and go from southwest counties go northeast. Di storm go cut across di state and leave weather problems behind.

“Many of these places go get different types of rain. No go surprise if many places see small of everything, rain, snow, sleet, and freezing rain as dis system dey move through,” Jeremy Michael, Meteorologist with di National Weather Service for Charleston, tok.

Di National Weather Service don put almost all di counties under Winter Weather Advisory from 11 p.m. Monday go 1 p.m. Tuesday. During dat time, especially for di southern and eastern counties, Tuesday morning traffic go dey hard.

“Oh yes, especially for di places wey go get snow or wey temperature dey around freezing,” he add.

Di I-79 area from Charleston go Braxton County for some maps dey show mostly rain, but Michael say no surprise if dat turn out to be icy area too. Di temperature change fit be small difference between rain and freezing rain or even ice.

“Winter weather go still dey where we fit get small snow wey go change to rain for beginning and den for di end of di system, later for morning, e fit end with snowfall for many parts of dat I-79 area,” he tok.

Dem dey expect up to two inches of snow. Di western lowlands get better chance for snow and di mountains too. Di system fit bring ice on top of everything too. Di system go dey around till late Tuesday for di mountains and parts of di Eastern Panhandle, but by Wednesday, weather go dry.

Rain go start dey turn to snow west of I-79 as cold air dey move east. Any ice for di mountains go move out of NCWV. Snow levels go rise and should change to rain for di mountains.

Even though snow levels go rise later for di morning, e fit stay cold. Some of di highest places no fit warm enough to see rain. So, snow and ice fit continue.
