Blue Angels Ready to Soar
“It's awesome,” said Lt. Cmdr. Wes Perkins, of Georgetown, Texas, about performing in Duluth. “Every week, we go to a new show site. This one in particular is very interesting to us. It's awesome scenery right here on Lake Superior.” The Blue Angels have been practicing their routines, ensuring a top-notch performance for the public.
Traffic Adjustments for the Celebrations
To accommodate the festivities, the Minnesota Slip Bridge was lowered and closed to marine traffic from 8:30 to 11 p.m. The Aerial Lift Bridge also stayed down and was closed to marine traffic from 7 to 11 p.m. Vessels that could pass under the bridge without requiring a lift were permitted to do so.
The Aerial Lift Bridge was also illuminated in red, white, and blue, adding a patriotic touch to the celebrations. With so much happening, Duluth is definitely the place to be this week!
