World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz is back on the court after his US Open victory, headlining Team Europe as they aim to defend their Laver Cup title against Team World. This year's edition promises thrilling tennis action at Chase Arena, home of the Golden State Warriors.

New Captains Take Charge

France's Yannick Noah steps in as captain of Team Europe, replacing Bjorn Borg. American Andre Agassi takes over from John McEnroe as captain of Team World, adding a fresh dynamic to the competition.

Europe's Strong Lineup

Despite missing Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic, Team Europe boasts a formidable lineup. Alongside Alcaraz, the team includes Alexander Zverev, Holger Rune, Casper Ruud, Jakub Mensik, and Flavio Cobolli. Mensik arrives fresh off a Davis Cup victory with the Czech Republic.

Team World Faces Challenges

Team World has faced setbacks with withdrawals from Ben Shelton, Tommy Paul, and Frances Tiafoe. However, they still feature top-10 players Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur, along with rising stars Alex Michelsen and Joao Fonseca, as well as Francisco Cerundolo and Reilly Opelka. Fonseca, at 19, will be the youngest player ever to compete in the Laver Cup.

Europe are defending the title they won last year in Berlin. They have won five of the first seven editions, although Team World triumphed the last time the competition co-created by Swiss great Roger Federer was held in North America, in Vancouver in 2023. The stage is set for an electrifying showdown as Team Europe looks to maintain its dominance against a determined Team World.
